The Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches (JWF) Young Leaders Society (YLS) is open to women living or working in the Palm Beach area who support JWF’s mission to empower women and girls through social change philanthropy and advocacy, and who wish to develop leadership skills, impact their community, and be part of a network of like-minded young women.
YLS develops and supports young women leaders from our local community by providing educational, networking, and mentoring opportunities, as well as the opportunity to participate in a giving circle. YLS will meet monthly August through January; participants are expected to attend all program activities.
In the second year, each YL is paired with a seasoned mentor to offer resources and guidance, thus enhancing the overall experience of the program. Mentors and mentees will establish their own meeting and communication schedules.
Values based giving is an important form of leadership. Participation in the YLS Giving Circle will provide an opportunity to learn about organizations in our local community and will educate giving circle members about strategic grant making. Each member will contribute a minimum of $250, which will be pooled together for one local organization grant. Giving circle members will research potential funding opportunities and collectively decide how to use their funds. YLS Giving Circle meetings are monthly, February to May. This is an optional component of YLS, more information can be found here.
The dates for YLS activities & YLS Giving Circle are as follows:
08/21, 09/15, 10/27, 11/17, 12/15, 01/19 – YLS Activities
02/16, 03/30, 04/20, 05/18 – YLS Giving Circle
All events are from 12PM – 1:15PM except the YLS Orientation on Sunday, August 21, which is a half day program.
Members of YLS are also invited to participate in JWF programs and events, and attend Trustee Luncheon Meetings.
