Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches (JWF) Young Leaders Society (YLS) is open to self-identified women ages 22 – 45 who support JWF’s mission to empower women and girls through social change philanthropy and advocacy, and who wish to develop leadership skills, impact their community, and be part of a like-minded network.
2020 Program Overview
YLS develops and supports young women leaders from our local community by providing educational and networking opportunities as well as participation in a unique giving circle. YLS meets monthly from January to December; participants are expected to attend all program activities. Each year, JWF accepts up to 20 women to join YLS.
Topics covered include: Stress management & achieving work/life balance, financial literacy, salary negotiation, advocacy, and giving as a form of leadership.
Values based giving is an important form of leadership. The last three sessions are the giving circle component of the program, which provides an opportunity to learn about organizations in our local community and strategic grant making with a gender lens. Each member will contribute a minimum of $250, which will be pooled together for one local organization grant. YLS members will research potential funding opportunities and collectively decide how to use their funds.
YLS meets monthly on Monday evenings from 6PM – 7:30PM at the JWF office. Members of YLS are also invited to participate in JWF programs and events, and attend Trustee Luncheon Meetings.
Applications must be submitted no later than January 17th, 2020. Space is limited.
