Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, Inc (AVDA) – Palm Beach County, Florida

Commit to Change: A Violence Prevention Initiative – $7,500 for one year

Commit to Change is a violence prevention initiative developed in partnership with the Florida Coalition Against Gender Violence. Commit to Change classroom presentations, for students in grades K-12, focus on healthy relationships and safety with peers.

Center for Women’s Justice – Israel

Developing and Enhancing Legal Solutions for Empowering Women – $7,500 for one year

Center for Women’s Justice works to end injustices perpetrated against women in the name of religion. In Israel, where there are two government-funded court systems—civil and rabbinic—only rabbinic courts can decide matters concerning marriage and divorce. CWJ employs a three-pronged approach to bring about lasting social change that benefits all Israeli women: legal advocacy, professional training for attorneys, and community outreach.

Dress for Success, Palm BeachesPalm Beach County, Florida

Next Step – $6,400 for one year

Next Step is a job readiness course for young women, ages 18 to 24, who are at risk or are aging out of foster care and lack the skills and abilities to obtain employment and break the cycle of poverty. Dress for Success’ with Next Step is to teach young women how to build a life foundation based on self-knowledge and self-worth and give them the tools and network of support which will enable them to navigate life independently while securing a stable future. These young women gain professional skills, learn to accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching, and networking in a supportive environment. 65% of the graduates from this program have obtained employment prior to or within 90 days of completing the program.

Gender Justice, National

General operating support – $6,400 for one year

Gender Justice is a nonprofit legal & policy advocacy organization devoted to addressing the causes and consequences of gender inequality. The mission of Gender Justice is to fight any discrimination based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. This is accomplished through strategic litigation, policy advocacy, and public education and training.
