The trustees heard about JWF’s busy and productive year of meetings, programs, and events, and about our grant making, advocacy, education, and leadership development.

No Small Change participants present grant

As part of our goal to develop leadership at every age and stage, we launched the new and innovative No Small Change teen philanthropy program. We created No Small Change to train our community’s teens about philanthropy as leadership and how to be grant makers with a gender and a Jewish lens. Join us Sunday at the Mandell JCC for the grant award announcements! The teens are giving over $12,500 away!

We graduated our second cohort of the Young Leaders Society, training the next generation of women leaders, and are preparing for the next cohort. Do you know a remarkable woman aged 45 or younger who could benefit from leadership training and mentoring? Share her contact information with Jennifer!

In the coming year, we will continue to elevate our work to expand our impact. We will serve as a convener and resource in the community and across the state on gender equality issues and the needs of women and girls.

We announced JWF’s new initiative – Men As Allies – to engage more men in our work as a public voice for gender equality and as donors to support JWF’s vital mission. We know that gender equality benefits everyone.

Dr. Jeffrey Nall

Our guest speaker was Dr. Jeffrey Nall, who spoke about why feminism is good for men. Dr. Nall will be a featured speaker for a Men As Allies program in the fall.

We also installed new board members Carol Auerbach, Ellen Kaufman, Sandra Krakoff, Roslyn Leopold, and Elissa Vessal and thanked the current board for their service.

Other exciting announcements included:

2017 Young Women’s Fellowship recipient is Sasha Klein. Congratulations, Sasha!

Save the date for December 13th for the Imagine the Possibilities Campaign Luncheon chaired by Lisa Schneider and honoring Sandra Krakoff!

Save the date for the next Jewish Women’s Funding Network Force For Change Conference in Israel, March 1-8, 2018!
